Event Overview

In 1989, SOVREN, in conjunction with the Vintage Motorcycle Enthusiasts, held their first Pacific Northwest Historics at Seattle International Raceway. Approximately 59 cars participated, and tradition was established. In the years since, the number and quality of cars and the fun for participants and spectators has increased significantly. In 1990, the Historics became a fund raiser for Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle when 68 cars participated and $7,500 was raised. Last year there were more than 255 entrants and over $485,000 was raised for Children’s Hospital.

The Pacific Northwest Historics Race attracts a large number of participants and spectators for what is the largest Vintage Race in the Northwest. Racers and fans from around the world converge at the racetrack in Kent to view exciting cars and visit with friends that share the same passion.

The race is attended by great drivers and fabricators. Previous  automotive  celebrities have included Dan Gurney, Danny Sullivan, Mauricio Gugelmein, David Donohue, Jim Hall, Phil Hill, Pete Brock, Bobby Rahal, Jerry Grant, Max Balcowski, Pete Lovely, Chip Hanauer, Jimmy Vasser and others.

This year our pace car driver is Dominic Dobson, the former Indy Car (CART) driver, and part owner of PacWest Racing..

The Historics is a festive event and includes many opportunities for the drivers, crews and workers to come together for socializing and swapping stories. Starting with the Friday night informal "after-the-race" get-together, where participants can get reacquainted with friends and  scope out the competition for the upcoming days. Saturday evening is celebrated with a well prepared dinner out at the track in the tented Hospitality area.. An auto-mobilia silent auction is held during the dinner giving racers and friends an opportunity to bid on a large array of great items  for the benefit of Children's Hospital.

The early morning Sunday  drivers' pancake breakfast is a welcome treat for those that are pressed for time and needing those extra minutes to prepare for another day of competition.

Because it is such a popular event,  you need to get your application in as soon as possible to be considered for  your paddock parking needs. Event applications and parking paddock forms are available on this website under the "FORMS" button.

SOVREN competition rules recognize three groups of cars: Pre-War (pre-1941), Vintage (1941-1962), and Historic (1963-1969). Formula (single-seat) race cars must meet criteria of the "Monosposto Register," which allows cars up to 1972.
