Since its inception, SOVREN has had rules regarding
car preparation, modifications, and safety equipment. However,
only the rules regarding safety equipment were regularly
enforced. The results of the member surveys and the voting for the latest rules changes have
reaffirmed the mandate to continue to reverse the trend which the
memebers saw occurring in the club where cars were modified from
original using non-allowed vintage parts or worse yet, using modern
parts, technology, and equipment. SOVREN's idea of vintage
racing is to race old cars prepared as they competed in the appropriate
era, not to race modern cars which look old!
We are asking you to fill out the Car Registration Form for each car new to SOVREN that you intend to enter in a SOVREN event. In return, we are eliminating questions regarding your car preparation from all SOVREN entry forms so you will not be asked the same questions over and over. If you have make changes to your car during the season, please note them in the appropriate blank o nyou entry forms and sumit a revised CRF.
This form is intended to do four things:
1. Cause the entrant to analyze
their vehicle and its level of period correctness, preparation and
modifications.
2. Cause the entrant to research the
exact specification sfor his vehicle and be prepared to show the
appropriate documentation upon request.
3. Give the Competition Committee
actual information as to how the cars racing in our events have been
prepared.
4. Enable the Competition Committee
to place cars more appropriately in groups and grids for competition.
Please completely fill out one registration
form for each car which you will be racing with SOVREN that does
not have a 2005 form on file, keep a copy for your records, and return
with a current photograph to Co Competition Chairman John Street, 1919
180th Ave NE, Bellevue WA 98008 Phone 425-373-9623. Additional copies
of this form may be obtained from SOVREN Registrar Judy Buckingham at
(425) 277-3177 or on the website at www.sovren.org. Your race
entry forms will not be processed unless a current CRF is on file for
your car and the required photograph of the car has been received so
we suggest that you file the form with John Street at your earliest
convenience.
